The Hill Peopleโs Comedy Fest (HPCF) is an exuberant celebration of comedy in all of its forms; stand-up, improv, sketch, music, and new experimental styles in the beautiful Western Catskills village of Stamford, NY. This festival brings nationally-acclaimed comedians together with talent from the Catskills, the Hudson Valley, NYC, and the surrounding region to entertain and mingle with the local community. Founded in 2021, performers and audience convene under the tent alongside The Belvedere Inn at 10 Academy St. in Stamford.

Hill Peopleโs Comedy Fest & The Belvedere Inn Hostย Virtual Stand-Up Comedy Class Led by Mia Jackson
๐ท๐๐ ๐๐๐ฃ๐๐ ๐ฆ๐๐ข๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ฃ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ก ๐ข๐ ๐ ๐๐๐ก๐โ- learn the theories, techniques, and principles that professional comics use to create solid stand-up comedy material. Students will practice their craft in a five-session series of virtual classes led by nationally touring comedian Mia Jackson (HBO, Comedy Central, Hulu, BET+). Students get the opportunity to take the mic and perform their polished stand-up routines in front of a live audience on Thursday, June 25 at the Belvedere Inn as part of the 6th Annual Hill Peopleโs Comedy Fest. The โLocal Voicesโ night will launch the festival weekend!
Dates: This comedy class will meet over Zoom starting Sunday, May 17. Classes will continue for five sessions on Sundays from 3-4pm or 4:30pm when students are working material (skipping Memorial Day weekend):ย

Workshop Pricing:
- Standard Registration: $100
- 1:1 Coaching Tier: $150 – At this pricing tier, students can schedule one-on-one coaching with instructor Mia Jackson, who will provide specific, personalized feedback and written notes to polish your jokes for the next level!

About Mia Jackson:
Mia Jackson is a touring comic based in NYC and a native of Columbus, GA. When not on the road, Mia performs regularly at The Comedy Cellar. In 2025 she performed on Nate Bargatzeโs comedy cruise, opened for Josh Johnsonโs โFlowersโ tour, opened for Jason Salmon, and completed her first USO tour through Qatar, Kuwait, Jordan and Djibouti. In 2022 she was an opener for Amy Schumerโs tour.ย
She has written for Life & Beth (Hulu) and I Love Us (BET+). Her first original comedy pilot, Aim Higher, sold to Warner Brothers in 2021. Her second half hour special premiered on Comedy Central in Nov 2019 and her stand up has been featured on This Week at The Comedy Cellar (Comedy Central). She is featured in Kevin Hartโs new Netflix show, Funny AF. Mia is smart, funny, relatable and versatile. Her endearing comedy and bright attitude entertains all types of crowds.ย
