The Party Theater’s 2026 Season will feature vibrant events that blend professional artistry with community engagement in Stamford, New York. The season includes a celebrated contemporary play by Sarah Ruhl, the return of the beloved Hill People’s Comedy Fest, a community favorite outdoor experimental performance event, and our ongoing monthly play reading, acting workshops and new works development series, plus a potential additional production pending the achievement of our 2026 season fundraising goal!

Performances will take place at venues across Stamford, including the Carriage House theater space on Main Street, The Belvedere Inn, and the Mutual Aid Society, continuing The Party Theater’s mission of activating local spaces through arts and culture.

The 2026 season marks The Party Theater’s fourth consecutive season of live performances and workshops in Stamford and is supported by the Robinson-Broadhurst Foundation, the Delaware County Office of Economic Development’s Tourism Grant, the Thompson Family Fund, and generous individual donors.

Set in the 1880s at the dawn of the electrical age, this witty and moving comedy explores intimacy, marriage, and the intersection of science and women’s wellbeing. When a doctor begins using a new electrical device to treat “hysteria,” the women around him begin to question the boundaries between medicine, pleasure, and connection. Ruhl’s acclaimed play is both hilarious and deeply human, blending Victorian manners with modern insight.

This additional performance offering is dependent upon YOUR support! Our enthusiastic audiences have demonstrated the great demand for quality live theater in the region and we are proposing this “Mini-Main” intimate one-weekend run of a celebrated play, but we must meet our 2026 fundraising goal to produce it. See the Sponsorship link below to make this project possible and we hope to see you there.

A Pulitzer Prize–winning playwright’s breakout work, Ironbound follows Darja, a Polish immigrant navigating decades of survival, love, and resilience in America. Told through a series of encounters at a New Jersey bus stop, the play reveals the emotional cost of chasing stability and the fierce determination required to build a life.
